TREATMENT NR 1: First of all, every clown needs to find their perfect combination of colours and fabrics! I was made out of a red shirt and a sparkling cardigan... Each clown has their own little niche interest in what they would want to present as. Some want to present more feminine... others more masculine... But we will always keep in mind, that we do not have binary genders; we do not see the point in it. We are whatever we want to be, and what the owner will tell us we are. Sometimes the choices are quite limited, while on some days the selection is varied in both textures and tones.
TREATMENT NR 2: Next comes the choice of size. Smaller or bigger. All my large friends have left to other islands or even countries, I find it very exciting and hope to receive some letters from them one day. I wonder how they are doing. Anyway. So we pick the size. What next? Of course: the peeling. The Peeling procedure means that our skins get cut out of fabric. Some find it stressful, some not as much.
TREATMENT NR 3: This one is without a doubt one of the most painful stages of getting our little soft bodies assembled. We call this the Sewing. Sometimes the stitches have to be ripped apart again, but it is okay. We can handle it. Of course, after that we get our skins turned to the correct sides and stuffed nicely with soft fluff or thread/fabric scraps. We are proud of our non-waste lifestyle!
TREATMENT NR 4: A quite boring treatment... Nothing much happens, it is just for relaxation: the sewing of our hats and little paws.
TREATMENT NR 5: The facing. This is where we get our own faces!!! Our real identity!!! This treatment is the most pleasant for us all... A little face paint, a little massage, a little needle poking in the eye, what more could a clown want? The later models have even gotten little marks on their chests, such as butterflies or flowers, some of my friends however have bows, which is equally as exciting. I am just Rinaldo, with no accessories. I like minimalism. Lately I've heard that some of the models have even received a proper face-painting instead of needle-technique that was applied on me.
TREATMENT NR 6: Final steps! This is where we get our heads sown to our little soft bodies. This really makes us feel complete. After the reverse-beheading we get cleaned from all possible dust specs and fuzzy cat furs (there is a big white cat in the workshop) and sent or carried to our next location. That is where we will live and if we get lucky, we might even be able to travel.
